Life coaching as a profession began only in the 1980s when Thomas Leonard, an American financial planner developed his career with a then relatively unheard of term ‘Life Coach’. Our CEO, Gerard O’Donovan was one of the first people in Europe to train with Thomas Leonard at Coach U, the very first school founded in 1992 by Leonard to train Professional Life Coaches. This was even before Tony Robbins launched his career as a ‘Peak Performance Coach’ in 1988 with his first Infomercial, Personal Power. In 1994 Thomas Leonard founded the International Coach Federation (ICF) and in 2000 Coachville.

Gerard was the founder of The International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring (IAPC&M) and has coaching courses accredited with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), The Institute of Leadership and Management (TIL&M) and was too requested by government officials to form the International Regulator for Coaching & Mentoring (IRCM). He is an internationally acclaimed authority in life and executive coaching and leadership. He is one of under ten fellow coaches in the world, a world class motivational speaker, consultant, author of A Coach’s Story and trainer. Gerard’s outreach has grown over the last 27+ years.
